Recruitment Methodology

When ERG is given a job brief we generally advertise the position to allow potential candidates to apply. As soon as we receive the response our consultants will spend some time assessing the qualifications to determine a good match for the position. Our next step is to invite you in to register your details and have a confidential interview at your local ERG office.

We encourage feedback from you at any stage of the process if you are unsure or would like further information...Please just ask .


This step by step this guide will give you an idea of what to expect
  1. Telephone or resume screening of candidates will commence once advertisment response begins.
  2. Suitable candidates will be scheduled for an interview at an ERG office.
Temps you will be required to provide:

  • Photo ID
  • IRD number
  • Bank account details
  • Minimum 2 verbal referees from previous employers
  • Copies of Licences i.e. current fork hoist
  • If you are not a NZ Citizen, evidence of your legal eligibility to work in NZ (i.e.work permit/Visa)
  • Evidence of any formal qualifications you may hold

Permanent applicants will be asked to provide

  • Minimum 2 verbal referees from previous employers
  • Copies of Licences i.e. current fork hoist or other classes
  • Evidence of any formal qualifications you may hold
  • If you are not a NZ Citizen, evidence of your legal eligibility to work in NZ (i.e.work permit/visa)

Upon arrival
  1. Candidates will complete an ERG Application/Authorisation.
  2. Temp candidates will be required to complete an Employment Agreement.(This Employment Agreement discusses your rights and responsibilities in detail along with outlining ERGs responsibilities to you)

Temp office /Industrial Induction
  1. The appropriate Health & Safety Video will be screened.
  2. Candidates will have their skills assessed using paper based or online computer tools. (We will consider results from prior Office based testing if completed in the last 3 months)
Permanent & Temp
  1. Behavioural / Competency based interviews will be conducted so we can determine your suitability for the role and encourage you to discuss your true likes & dislikes, essential to maximising your full potential.
  2. Verbal reference checking will be completed prior to commencement of any job.
  3. Upon confirmation of your assignment/placement you will receive a full brief of the job and in some cases your consultant may meet you on site on your first day to provide an onsite induction, if your assignement is of a temporary or Contract nature.
  4. We will continue to keep in touch throughout your placement/assignment and encourage feedback at any stage.
