Senior Production Engineer

The Senior Production Engineer is a key engineering resource required for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of BOC’s Tonnage plants in New Zealand.
 
Reporting to the Production Manager the key responsibilities of this role are to:
  • Manage the remainder of the process plant life extension project to completion
  • Represent Site Operations in future capital plant projects
  • Operate and maintain the plants to supply our products safely, cost effectively and within quality specifications
  • The position is part of the local Tonnage Operations Management team, and will provide engineering support across the broad remit of this group
 
Components of this engineering support function will include:
  • Project and cost management for existing process plant life extension
  • Planning and implementation of future projects
  • Troubleshooting and rectification of plant issues
  • Plant outage review and investigation
  • Safe work management
  • Small project/rectification work and engineering management of change
  • Addressing corrective actions arising from incidents and audits
  • Systems development and plant shutdown support
 
Customer interface for both ongoing pipeline supply and engineering projects will be a critical part of the role and therefore we will require strong communication skills.
 
The normal place of work for the position will be the BOC Glenbrook site however the other New Zealand Tonnage sites will be attended as required to meet the responsibilities of the role. Consistent with the nature of the plant continuous operation, flexibility of working hours is required from time to time (typically for abnormal operation, breakdown or planned shutdown work).
 
The role will provide support to the management team after hour’s callout coverage system.
