A manufacturer and distributor of steel related products for the New Zealand and Pacific construction, engineering & manufacturing markets, our client prides themselves on producing & distributing high quality and locally made products.
With this in mind an exciting opportunity has arisen for a ‘go getter’ to take on this Sales Rep position, who is a confident and self-driven individual.
Job tasks and Responsibilities
This is a Sales Representative role, for a high-energy individual who is driven and wants to succeed. You will be liaising with both internal and external customers and managing a sales territory predominately based in Auckland. This will involve building and cultivating existing leads and developing new business opportunities through establishing effective market presence and customer engagement.
Understanding value and identifying client needs is essential in order to meet sales targets. The role has an element of processing enquiries, orders and quotes – you will therefore need a high level of accuracy and at least intermediate IT knowledge.
Skills and Experience
In order to be successful in this position you will possess:
  • Exceptional written, verbal, communication and presentation skills
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships through the EQ / IQ mix
  • A proven track record of exceeding targets and KPI’s
  • Preference will be given to a minimum 5 years experience in a Sales Representative Role of a technical environment
  • Previous knowledge and experience in the following sectors - Building Supplies, Construction, Engineering or a materials manufacturing background would be considered for this position
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi task in a fast paced and busy environment
  • To be self-motivated, self-driven and resilient with high levels of energy and enthusiasm
  • A proactive attitude with strong levels of initiative to exploit opportunities
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office and ERP/ CRM systems
