An opportunity to step into your first supervisory role
Our client specialises in the design and assembly of niche products for the telecommunication industry which include: fibre connectivity, power systems, Cabinets, Switch boards, and Communications towers. Established in 2005 and based in East Tamaki, they service the NZ and Fiji market. A rare opportunity has arisen to join the company due to the retirement of a long serving staff member.
This role is Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm, with no weekend work!
We are seeking an experienced ‘hands on’ individual with an electrical background to oversee the workshop and 1 staff member. If you are seeking a step into a supervisory role, this could be a great opportunity for you.
This role entails: allocating jobs, prioritising workload, assembling DC power systems, switch boards and cabinets, liaising with suppliers and some production planning duties.
What you need to be successful in this role?
Experience assembling electrical components and cabinetry
If you are a registered electrician this would be an advantage however, is not essential
Quality control of the final product
A full class 1 NZ drivers licence
It would be great if you have a forklift licence, however, this is not essential as upskilling will be provided
Strong numerical skills and confident using a tape measure
Knowledge of health and safety practices
This role entails:
Working with a range of power tools and air tools to assemble electrical components and cabinetry
Working from plans and the ability to read and interpret drawings
Prioritise and allocate work orders, and production planning
Confident building external relationships with suppliers to confirm that materials have arrived on site and ensure products are assembled within time frames
Involved in continuous improvement around production efficiency

Pay rate up to $26.44/hr - equivalent to $55,000/annum salary
